Sheldon Kruth, CPA
Shelly, has been a CPA since 1975 and graduated with a B.S. in accounting from Syracuse University. He has in-depth experience in tax issues involving closely held and service related companies. In addition to being the firm's managing partner, Shelly leads our Estate and Gift Tax team.
His expertise includes real estate and investment acquisitions and sales, financing, projections, valuations, and estate and fiduciary accounting and taxation. Shelly provides creative solutions to a variety of problems by analyzing the viability of corporate formations and related entities. Additionally, he has significant experience in working with buy/sell agreements and estate tax planning. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

Philip Stein, CPA
Phil received his accounting degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has been a CPA since 1974. He has had 7 years experience with Ernst & Young and has extensive experience in audit, tax, and management services (including computer systems) with non-profit organizations, closely held corporations and large farm and agricultural related entities. He also has served as the president of a golf and country club, is and has been an officer and board member of various significant non-profit organizations, and is involved in multi-dimensional United Way supported organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

Frank Squadrito, Jr. CPA
Frank, a CPA since 1978, has a B.S. in accounting from Le Moyne College. He has audit experience with PriceWaterhouseCoopers as well as extensive knowledge and experience in the financial operations of many of our clients. He is our in-charge partner on numerous construction engagements where he directly consults with management in regards to financial reporting, tax and financial planning matters. Frank is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

Arthur Liberman, CPA
Art has been a CPA since 1977 and has a B.S. in accounting from Syracuse University and an MBA from George Washington University. He has national accounting firm experience with Deloitte & Touche and has had extensive audit and tax experience with non-profit organizations, closely held and consulting companies, and gets significantly involved in tax planning and valuations at the corporate and shareholder levels. He also serves as a Board Member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society while participating in its fiscal affairs and long range planning. Art has been our lead partner in overseeing our governmental audits and compliance related issues. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

M. Louis Kruth, CPA
Lou received his B.S. in accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has been a CPA since 1985. He provides many of our clients with financial planning and consulting services. He gets integrally involved in office systems, procedures, payroll and benefits, and their implementation. Lou has developed expertise in the administration and filing requirements of both the New York State Empire Zone and Federal Empowerment Zone tax reduction programs. His industry expertise includes Real Estate Development and construction, Restaurants, Retail, and professions. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

David Silverman, CPA
Dave, a 1977 graduate of Syracuse University, holds a B.S. degree in Accounting. The merger of Silverman & Silverman, CPA with Kruth, Stein Squadrito, Liberman & Silverman, LLP was effective October 1, 2001. He joins the firm as a partner and Lisa Silverman and Elaine Pearson became members of the KSSL staff.
Dave's strong business background allows him to specialize in the management of closely held businesses including an expertise in tax planning and succession strategies. Dave's strength is being an integral part of the client's business decision making team. He says "the best part of my job is helping my clients succeed and make the best possible business decision considering all relevant issues." He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

Michael W. Lesser, CPA & Tax Partner
A CPA since 1989, Mike graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His experience includes five years as a tax manager with KSSL and several years in the tax department of big six accounting firms. Mike specializes in taxation for closely held corporations and individuals, with a special emphasis on retirement planning. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs.

Susan Viel, CPA
A CPA since 1986, Sue has been with the firm since 1985. She has a B. S. in Accounting from LeMoyne College and a M.S. in Taxation from Washington School of Law. She has been a Tax Manager since 1990. Her expertise includes estates, trusts, and gift taxation as well as estate and trust administration and technical tax support. She is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Harold Graves, CPA
Harold has been a CPA since 1989, and earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Finance from LeMoyne College. After working in private accounting and several years with another Syracuse CPA firm he joined our firm in 2007. He serves a variety of clients by providing financial reporting services and has experience in non-profit, corporate, and individual taxes.
Harold specializes in areas of construction, entertainment and service industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPAs, and is past-president of the Rotary Club of DeWitt.

Sara Alexander, CPA
Sara has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1981. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She has practiced public accounting since 1978. Prior to joining Our firm in 1995, she had her own practice in Jamesville, NY.
Sara has a variety of small business and individual clients. Her practice is centered on tax work. She is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jane Hoteling CPA, CFP, & CVA
Jane is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Certified Valuation Analyst. She joined the firm in November, 2001, and came to us with a wide range of experience in the areas of tax, auditing, and financial planning.
Jane started her career in Binghamton, NY and moved to Syracuse several years ago. She obtained her CPA license in 1990 and her CFP Certificate in July 2001. She recently fulfilled the requirements and has obtained the designation Certified Valuation Analyst. This certification qualifies Jane to perform valuations on small businesses for gift and estate tax purposes, for buying and selling businesses, as well as divorce and other situations where it is necessary to place a value on a business.

Rosanne LaPaglia, CPA & CFE
Rosanne has been a CPA since 1992, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from LeMoyne College. After spending some time to raise her two children, she joined Our firm in 2001. She serves a variety of clients by providing financial reporting services and has experience in both corporate and individual tax.

Anthony Marchese, CPA
A CPA since 2003, Anthony joined Our firm in 2004. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. His experience includes three years in Boston with the global accounting firms Arthur Anderson and KPMG. Anthony specialized in audits of non-profit organizations, government entities and employee benefit plans.

John Vargo, CPA
John, a CPA with over 20 years of experience, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Siena College. From large regional firms in both New York and Vermont, he has gained extensive audit and tax experience while serving a variety of different clients by providing financial reporting, tax planning and consulting services. His experience and background allow him to serve our clients with timely, insightful information to help them run and further develop their businesses.
